The rules
What you're agreeing to.
- Free to enter. One entry each. Send another and it replaces your first.
- Entries close Friday 20 November at 23:59 GMT. Nothing after that.
- Use the official pack. Do not use samples you have not cleared.
- The winner is offered a release on Blackhole Recordings.
- I might use a short clip of your remix and your artist name to promote the competition.
- I shortlist, Blackhole choose, and that is the final word.
- You need to be 18 or over to enter.
Questions
Things people ask.
Does it cost anything to enter?
No. The pack is free and so is entering. You go through a checkout to submit, because that is how the form works, but there is nothing to pay.
What do I actually need to send?
An MP3 or a link to your remix. It does not need to be mastered. I am listening to the ideas and the production, not how loud it is.
Can I add my own vocals or samples?
Yes, as long as you have the rights to them. The one hard rule is that your remix has to use the official pack.
Can I enter more than once?
One entry each. If you send another before the deadline it replaces your first, so if you finish a better version just send that one.
Which DAW do I need?
Any of them. The pack is audio stems plus MIDI, so it does not care what you produce in.
When do I find out?
I start listening after the deadline and work through every entry. The shortlist goes to Blackhole and the winner is announced by email, so keep an eye on your inbox.
What happens if I win?
Your remix gets an official release on Blackhole Recordings. I will ask you for a full-quality master at that point.
